A truly worthy finish that packs a punch: This wooded stage initially winds its way along forest and farm paths from the stage stone in Nonnenberg (160 m above sea level) slightly uphill to the Ittenbach military cemetery and then into the Siebengebirge. Continuing uphill, you finally reach the highest point of the stage at Löwenburger Hof (360 m above sea level). With a view of the striking Löwenburger orchard, a short break is recommended here.

The detour to the Löwenburg castle ruins (455 m above sea level) is an absolute must, as it offers a magnificent view over the Rhine Valley and the entire Siebengebirge, one of the oldest nature parks in Germany. On partly wide, partly narrow forest paths, the route now leads steadily downhill past the Ölender, the Kleiner and Großer Breiberg to Rhöndorf. The final ascent to Drachenfels starts here at 100 m above sea level, winding its way up the mountain on increasingly narrow paths. The Ulanen monument and several rewarding viewpoints offer welcome breaks along the way. Once you have finally reached the plateau at Drachenfels (280 m above sea level), you can enjoy an incomparable panoramic view of the Rhine Valley and the Eifel, Bonn and as far as Cologne.

The Bergischer Weg runs parallel to the Rheinsteig between Löwenburg Castle and Drachenfels.

A3 to AS Siebengebirge, then L331 to Oberpleis (if necessary continue via L268 and L143 to Oberpleis-Nonnenberg)

or by bus 513, 520, 521, 525, 535, 536, 537, 539, 541, 560 to Oberpleis bus station
