Bergisch Panorama Trail: Stage 9

The Wiehltalsperre reservoir shows that the Oberbergisch valley reservoirs have more to offer than just water. Discover the island that became famous when it was used to advertise a brand of beer, right at the beginning of the stage. Christmas tree plantations line the trail upwards to the highest point of the tour near Erdingen, where there are far-reaching views over the Bergisches Land. Even Rome isn’t far from here: in addition to a chapel, the Oberbergisch equivalent of the Holy City even has a helicopter pad and offers a worthwhile detour before the trail leads down to the main village of the municipality of Morsbach.
