The Bergischer Weg is Germany's most beautiful hiking trail 2024!

The first stage of the Bergischer Weg connects Lake Baldeney with Velbert.

The long-distance hiking trail allows you to discover the Ruhr's green veins and fascinating nature experiences, such as the Heisinger Bogen bird sanctuary on the Ruhr's largest reservoir.

Walking time: approx. 3 hours

If you hike the Bergischer Weg and take photos at certain places along the way, you can collect points and receive a hiking pin. Further information is available here.

We would like to thank Hiltrud Gehrmann and Anke Volgmann, who look after the trail as volunteer trail patrons.
