The Bergischer Weg is Germany's most beautiful hiking trail 2024!

This stage is rich in views, offering repeated glimpses of the Bröl and Sieg valleys.

However, there are also a few climbs to overcome on the easy forest paths and fantastic rocky trails. The school, where the idea for the first youth hostel was once born, the half-timbered village of Auel and the medieval town of Blankenberg with its castle ruins ensure that there is no cultural or visual monotony.

If you hike the Bergischer Weg and take photos at certain locations, you can collect points and receive a hiking pin. You can find more information here.

We would like to thank Frank Kortum, who looks after the trail as a volunteer trail patron.
