Transporter bridge

Short facts

  • Solingen

There is no operation at the moment! In floating manual operation over Remscheid and Solingen | With the transporter bridge over the Wupper In the shadow of Germany's highest railroad bridge, you cross the Wupper at a leisurely pace - using your own muscle power. Does this sound like just the right program for you and your loved ones? Then head for the transporter bridge and embark on an adventure for young and old.

With the transporter bridge to lofty heights

The cities of Remscheid and Solingen are only a few kilometers apart as the crow flies. Probably the most exciting way to connect the two destinations is to take the transporter bridge from Müngstener Brückenpark. Held by thick wire ropes, you crank your way across the Wupper and give your adventure a new dimension.

While the hiking trails along the banks of the Wupper in Remscheid towards Schloss Burg are relatively flat and therefore offer the best conditions for enjoyable cycling and relaxed hiking, the Solingen side offers exciting high-altitude trails for sporty and active fun.

Who can travel on the transporter bridge?

Up to ten people including baby carriages, wheelchairs, dogs or bicycles can attempt an exciting floating crossing at the same time during the summer months. The ferry team on site ensures a smooth crossing and looks forward to active support on the seesaw.

Good to know: The ferry service is weather-dependent. The ferry cannot operate in heavy rain, frost or temperatures above 28 degrees Celsius. You can find more information here.

Unfortunately, there is currently no service due to illness.
