Trees shape our lives in many places;

"Coffee drinking lime trees" have been the focal points of village life for centuries, junipers have been used as medicinal plants since ancient times and oaks have had a firm grip on our currency for decades. Trees produce a large proportion of the oxygen without which life would not even be possible. This ramble takes you on a discovery tour through Morsbach and into the world of fascinating tree species - their characteristics, history(ies) and the myths surrounding them.

On the 6.5-kilometre circular trail, you will encounter trees under which justice was dispensed, learn how the "bread tree" of forestry became a symbol of forest dieback and how a prickly plant with healing powers opens up new perspectives. The observation tower on the "Hohe Hardt" on the southern edge of the village offers a good overview of a large part of the approximately 56 square kilometer Morsbach municipal area. From its platform, you can see as far as the Siebengebirge mountains. On the way to Morsbach's local mountain and through the town center, the eight information boards of the "Tree Trail" offer interesting facts for older hikers as well as exciting facts with the mouse from the "Sendung mit der Maus" show for younger hikers.

Parts of this ramble run along the route of the "Bergischer Panoramasteig".

Refreshment stops can be found in the center of Morsbach, e.g. at the Landhotel Goldener Acker.

The trail has a total of 8 information boards. We would like to thank Susanne Reifenrath, who looks after the trail as a volunteer trail patron. There is a small plaque with a QR code at the start information board on the tree trail, which takes you directly to a quiz. All you need to do to take part is scan the QR code.
