How to get to Bergisches Wanderland

By car 

Motorways 1, 3, 4, 40, 45, 59 and 61 take you directly to the Bergische Wanderland (Bergisch Hiking Country) or right past it. So there are optimal connections from all directions. 

By train 

Starting points may include Cologne Central Station, Essen Central Station, Bonn Central Station and the Central Station in Wuppertal. You can plan your train journey using the journey planner on the Deutsche Bahn website. 

By bus 

The entire Bergisches Land is serviced by a well-developed bus network. There are good connections even to the smaller villages. There are also good connections from the airports in Cologne/Bonn and Düsseldorf.

By plane 

The nearest airport is Cologne/Bonn. From there you can take a train or hire a car.
