Bergisch Panorama Trail Stage 1

From the hustle and bustle of Ründeroth to the winding Agger valley, the first stage of the Bergische Panoramasteig (Bergisch Panorama Trail) leads up to "steinreiche” (stone-rich) Lindlar, which has earned this name because of its productive quarries. The stone quarried around this tranquil little village is know worldwide as Lindlar greywacke and has been used at Frankfurt Airport, in Dubai and on the yacht of a Russian billionaire. Along the way, a detour to the artificial "metabolon” hill beckons. Under this name, a former landfill site has been turned into an environmental learning site with leisure facilities and a giant slide.
