stage 8: Bergneustadt - Wildbergerhütte (22.1 km, 7 hours)
Through rustling forests and small villages, hikers climb almost without noticing to the winter sports area at Blockhaus - 490 metres above sea level, high above Eckenhagen climatic spa. Along the way, you can stop for a rest on the edge of one of the last juniper heaths in the Oberbergisch district. Right next to the former ski jump in Blockhaus, hikers are welcomed by a panorama that allows you to see as far as the Siebengebirge on the horizon if visibility is good.
