Access and Connecting Routes

The access routes show you the way to the Bergische Weg (Bergisch Trail) or the Bergische Panoramasteig (Bergisch Panorama Trail). Most of these begin in town centres, at train stations or at sights. The maps and GPX data for the individual access routes can be found on the page for the respective stage.

The connecting routes give you the option of combining the Bergische Weg (Bergisch Trail) and the Bergische Panoramasteig (Bergisch Panorama Trail). There are two fantastic routes for doing this:

  • The northerly connecting route to the Bergische Weg (Bergisch Trail) runs for approx. 14.4 km from Wermelskirchen-Dhünn through the Eifgenbachtal valley to Burscheid/Odenthal.
  • The south connecting route to the Bergische Weg (Bergisch Trail) runs for approx. 24.3 km from Waldbröl-Geilenkausen via Ruppichteroth to Much.
  • The connecting route to Höhenflug in the Sauerland runs for 2.4 km from the Genkeltalsperre reservoir near Helberg (Gummersbach) to Wasserschloss Badinghagen (Meinerzhagen).
  • The connecting route to Natursteig Sieg (Sieg Nature Climb) runs for approx. 8.3 km from Waldbröl to Schladern train station (Sieg). Part of the route runs in parallel to Natursteig Sieg (Sieg Nature Climb) between Höhnrath and Schladern.

The connecting routes are marked in both directions with blue signs.
