Animals from all over the world: visit the lions, tigers and more

Wuppertal zoological gardens are among the oldest and most traditional in Germany. Around 3,500 animals from every part of the world are at home here. In terms of landscape, the zoo is one of the most beautiful facilities of its kind. Located on a slope, the picture is defined by broad meadows, large ponds and old stands of trees.

Eye to eye with the feline predators: lions, tigers and more live in modern enclosures at Wuppertal Zoo. With a little luck, you can observe the animals from very close up.

You can get a great view from above from Sambatrasse. The former railway line takes cyclists and hikers right through the grounds. A bridge goes directly over the predators’ enclosure.

Would you like to know more about the animals at the zoo? Then go on a zoo safari. On a round tour under your own steam, you can ask exciting questions.

Or ask the experts everything you have always wanted to know. You have the opportunity to do so on a guided tour of the zoo. By the way: the zoo by night is an entirely different experience.

The zoo as a venue for events? Also possible. Children’s birthdays or weddings - everyone can find their perfect wild setting here.
